Just read this morning that those of us living in Vancouver can expect an "atmospheric river" this week. Translation - it will rain a lot.
Here in Colorado they have replaced blizzard or heavy snowfall with 'bomb cyclone'...
I'm in Vancouver. It's not rain, it's "an atmospheric river."
Up until now the only atmospheric river I knew was the River Aire in Yorkshire!
