This whole topic infuriates me. I was labeled a “tomboy” because I was gifted with athletic ability and wanted to be outside, not because I was confused about my “gender” or who I was. Playing with dolls and dressing up was boring!! My mother definitely would have pushed transitioning on me. She desperately wanted to fit me into a box and label me to ease the burden that I wasn’t “normal”. Thank goodness I grew up in the 80’s!!

I am definitely not the typical woman. I don’t care about being ostracized from the group or losing my job or status in a clearly demented society. I would and do wholeheartedly speak out against any parent or teacher pushing transitioning on a child. It is abuse. Period.

I have not been blessed with motherhood but if I had been, I would hope that the other adults in my life would have the courage to speak out when I was making a grave error or completely misinformed. It is our duty to speak up for abused children. We all know that primary caregivers are incompetent. We all had parents who made plenty of mistakes. Being a parent doesn’t give you the right to do whatever you want to a child.

I don’t understand how a parent can so easily be turned against their own flesh and blood. Where are your ethics and morals? Where is the love?

I, too , get infuriated by this! It goes against everything I value : truth, justice in the real sense, morals, ethics, integrity, compassion democracy! I want to get away from this, but it’s like watching a train wreck... a kind of perverse fascination that keeps me reading about this . At least on Substack there are intelligent and thoughtful commentaries , like this one. And unlike on Twitter, now X. I had to delete that account, because the lurid pictures of demented trans”women” and a few “ trans” men” were downright nauseating! Thank goodness , I haven’t seen anything like that sensationalism on Substack!

A very thoughtful and thought-provoking essay, indeed.

The billionaires funding this aren't female.

The medical industry is the most responsible because schools and moms can push anything they want--if doctors said no literally none of it could happen. Btw, all of Jazz Jennings (real name Jarron Bloshinsky) doctors were male, from Dr. Ting to Dr. Bowers.

"Trans" is mostly male perversion and autogynephilia historically. Without male stupidity, none of this would have started in the first place.

A lot of this, I think, is fueled by fear to call out stupid male behavior. If that wasn't the original problem, women wouldn't have anything to go along with.

I don't necessarily disagree. I think this supports the angle of the article which is saying young people have been exposed to wider exploitation because the culture of affirmation was incubated in 'caring' female environments. Jennings' use of a male medical team does not negate the fact that educational, child care and media cultures which cultivated the affirmative-at-all-costs culture are female dominated.

Expand full comment

The educational and child care cultures cannot do anything if the medical industry did not allow puberty blockers, hormones, and surgery. The medical industry is not female dominated. It is dominated by subversive male billionaires who are ultimately responsible for this because they donate the money that pushes this, from Rothblatt to Stryker to Pritzker, going back to doctors like Hirschfeld to Money to Ihlenfeld to Benjamin.

The media culture is also not female dominated. Starting with David Zaslav at TLC (for I Am Jazz) to the producers of the show Euphoria to Bruce Jenner. It's male dominated.

This problem isn't the result of female affirmation. Men are the problem. The women who are stupid enough to go along with it are part of it, but they would stop if the men stopped because the men are the origin. If the women stopped, the men would still be a problem, particularly the money. That's the difference.

Can you not allow there may have been a conduit to exploitative corporatism via the (75%+ female) childcare, educational, child psychology and public sector middle management environments and the social media environment, all of which are politically and ideologically invested in being 'inclusive'?

Penny, below, puts it brilliantly

"We are much better at challenging direct male aggression than we are at challenging poisonously sweet female aggression"

We’re better at challenging direct male aggression? Really?

Because women aren’t being punched in the face by men in dresses? How’s that going? What’s going on in Ukaine or Afghanistan btw? How’s it going challenging direct male aggression?

Males are the problem. They blow up at the mere suggestion that something that they’re doing is wrong. No, “we” are not much better at challenging them because they still won’t admit that they are the problem.

I wonder how many female parents are corrupt enough to mutilate their children? What about the fathers? Where was the father of that unfortunate boy, Jazz? Was it done for the publicity, meaning the money? The whole thing was an exercise in child abuse!...and reading about his problems of keeping his false vagina from fusing is so disturbing..as well as disgusting! Poor guy!

This is right on point. As noted, Munchausen's syndrome by proxy involves actions (often by the mother) "that are typically a result of a maladaptive disorder or excessive attention-seeking by the caregiver." Brett Weinstein recently interviewed activist, Joshua Slocum. As he states, everything is in inverse. What should be considered savagery against children is celebrated. https://youtu.be/vBbbbm4jSAQ?si=mVCJ3kuimAPVBhyr I have to wonder if these kids are just guinea pigs for the transhumanists.

I was reading my morning newsletter 'Coffee and Covid' and he includes a story of a boy who failed a quiz because he correctly answered men have penises and only women can get pregnant. Teachers are harassing the boy saying he is the evil product of patriarchy. I am sure these are all women doing it. I have long argued that women are just as dangerous as men - we just do it in different ways. Neo-Marxist, Herbert Marcuse, argued women were a social construct but it would be a useful construct to advance their agenda. His prophecy has proved all too true.

Jazz Jennings would probably be a straight, healthy young man if taken away from his abusive parents.

He'd probably just be homosexual.

I'm pretty sure he's attracted to girls but don't quote me on it.

This interview was done when he was 11, before the puberty blockers were put in and the estrogen was given to him. He's still an unmutilated and unmedicated male, and he is honest that he's attracted to males (at 7:35):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bJw3s85EcxM&ab_channel=ABCNews

I have also watched "I Am Jazz" for a while, and he has described how devastated he was when the other boys in the class rejected him and basically ignored him. It was one of the reasons he did online high school, along with the depression that came after the puberty blockers and estrogen.

After all that, he did date Ahmir (disaster), but then stated he was "pansexual" and tried to go out with Victoria as a storyline, who was obviously a lesbian and not interested.

I think if he was left alone, he would have just been a gay man because oftentimes a young boy who is into stereotypically girl toys and clothes just grows up to be gay (not 100% all the time, but it's indicative).

Now he's still male, has never had an orgasm and never will, cannot have children, and has intense mood and weight problems. He was just a kid when all this started. I blame the medical industry because this was done to him. Doctors could have said no, so this is a cautionary tale.

I blame his parents. They should be jailed.

I understand why some would say that, but I've watched the show and it's apparent the family is really close and the parents do care about him. I think that they think that they were doing the right thing.

They took him to the doctor, and the doctor told them that this was the right thing to do. They didn't prescribe the estrogen or put in the puberty blockers or do the surgeries--the doctors did all that. If the doctors told the parents "Listen, your kid can wear whatever he wants. But he's a boy and always will be," it would have been over right there.

Let's say it's 2005 and you take your kid to the doctor because your kid is in pain from a car accident, and your doctor says the best treatment is a bunch of Oxycontin immediately because that's what works. Then your kid is a drug addict. Who's the blame, ultimately? The parent who took the kid to the doctor and trusted the medical system, or the doctor and the medical system?

I blame the medical system. None of this would have happened without that, and when this lie collapses, it will be because the doctors are stopped. Same with lobotomies.

Oh 100%. These women are the frontline and the heroes of the defence against trans ideology. It wouldn't be appropriate or strategic for them to critique gender ideology from this perspective. They have far more pertinent and effective political and legal angles to take.

I am not lionising men, I'm saying it it is being left to men precisely because of this. What woman in her right mind would challenge the 'toxic sisterhood' phenomenon? Women working within these environments (like me and other teachers) cannot speak out because they are professionally ensconced. Women outside these environments are muzzled by the impropriety of critiquing other women. We have a very powerful anti-male-toxicity lobby, but no stalwart against corrupt ideologies taking hold in female environments. If we don't change this, it doesn't matter if there are a 100 Posie Parkers or a thousand Kathleen Stocks, culture eats activists for breakfast.
