I probably couldn't pay the whole thing, but I would like to contribute if I can. With the majority of a population contributing a small portion of their taxes, just like with public education, it would go a long way towards universal childcare, health insurance, etc.
Free childcare? That can only lead to self-destruction!!!
Nothing is free. Someone has to pay for it. Do you want to pay the bill when I take my child for free healthcare?
