"Corporations such as Disney colonize our imagination." What a great sentence. It is similar to what I have told friends confronted with bullying to accept trans men in women's spaces. Say you don't approve of 'gender colonization.' You explain difficult concepts very well, better than James Lindsay who I greatly admire but you need to understand the concepts a bit before listening to his discourse series. The tale that does lend itself to diversity I think is the Wizard of Oz. Because it is rooted in the American experience of the little guy against the rich, I can see every ethnicity easily being inserted into the role of Dorothy.

"The pledge of alliance to a new generation of consumers, the “diverse” target market, is only a gimmick permitting such businesses to remain relevant, attempting to profit, and above all to hide the mediocrity inherent to their cultural products."

Absolutely scintillating. What a great article.

I respect your position. It is insulting to attribute the opinion of a few young guys, who find it 'relatable', to an entire class of people. People are not homogenous because of their race, gender, or ethnicity. Kim Kardashian's opinions have no bearing on my thoughts. That she is a woman is only one trait we share. Much of what she and the rest of her family stand for is antithetical to my views.

Since Jordan Peterson follows your work, hopefully, you two can sit and discuss. I do like his work, but I can tell the constant criticism he receives wears him down, and he sometimes says things that seem without his typical deep thought. The eccentric dedicated professor presented in old lectures is not the same who presents himself today. We have to be cautious to not be like the prisoners at the Roman coliseum tearing each other apart for their entertainment - and their profit.
