Well said. This is another political debate that only gains momentum as we get closer to election time. Then mysteriously, a mass shooting occurs, the shooter, "dies" and the fear peddling begins from politicians and the MSM. While we debate the issue among ourselves, the politicians laugh and make themselves richer creating policies that benefit them and not us.

One side of this issue really believes laws are going to save all of you. As a felon, it's illegal for me to own a gun of any kind. That said, I can have any kind I want in less than an hour. New laws only restrict those who abide by them. The rest of us don't care about the dozens already on the books, adding another changes nothing for the criminal.

Great starting point. Our citizens are so far removed from the realities of what takeover looks like, that they cannot see the necessity of every citizen being armed. A friend, who grew up in Russia, recounts being holed up in his home as the rebel gangs and militias roamed from home to home raping women and girls, killing the men and pillaging the homes. This is not beyond what is capable here in the hood ol’ USA.

During the Civil War, we had the Jayhawkers and the Bushwhackers, the rebel militias for each side. Given the power each believed to possess, they burned down homes, pillaged and plundered. That occurred in a time when neighbors and towns were tight. However, people were quick to turn on one another. Imagine now, at a time when we are all so disconnected, adversarial, and human dignity is all but lost. Covid offered but a taste of what could come, as protesters approached people in their homes, left threatening letters of extortion on porches and people called for harm and even death for those a they disagreed with. (All from the side of tolerance, as we know…)

History demonstrates well the steps to takeover. Removing weapons fro the citizens is ALWAYS key. Pray for our country.
