Generally I am Against Government overreach. In this case I might be for it. Poisons being slipped in without our knowing shouldn’t be allowed.

I agree. I think the difference in health issues, especially obesity between the US & Europe speaks for itself. We're knowingly poisoning our own population. It's time to take a hard look at the situation at the very least.

I agree w you on this. Truth in labeling please. Even “raw almonds” are not truly raw. They are “pasteurized” via fumigation. The only way to get really raw almonds is by purchasing them through an organic farm like Briden -Wilson. Even in health food stores they are not truly raw. Briden had to fight to keep their almonds truly raw. https://homegrownalmonds.com/

You can’t sprout pasteurized almonds. Dead food!

Wise consumers have been label readers for years. It’s about time that big food is held accountable for these poisons. Now do SOY, CANOLA, SAFFLOWER, COTTONSEED and other toxic seeds oils that are in virtually everything including bread. The reality is, carefully shop the outer edges of the grocery store if you can’t grow or raise your own vegetables, meats, eggs, cheeses.

Yes! I've always heard that as well. Stay on the outer edges and no in between aisles!

Thanks for the information. I am glad to see someone pushing for this. Dick Durbin is one of those that pushes hard against natural stuff. I subscribe to anh-usa.org. They fight hard against FDA and the bad things in our food and water. They have the prefilled out letters you can send out to your congressmen. They will send out action alerts when something is going on so you can contact them.

Thank you, Haley, for this very informative essay. I hope the good Congresswoman will be successful as it will be a boon to the rest of the world, especially setting a positive example for places where legislation and regulations are much more lax. For e.g. a US food conglomerate will be barred from certain additives in the US, but they may continue to use these outside. To me, this is also an example of the true greatness of the US. Every time I visit, I meet Americans who tell me it’s the greatest country in the world. I haven’t visited in a while. But if I did, I could point to many reasons why I don’t believe it - not to be offensive but just truthful.

Now that is sensible environmental responsibility. The global climate religion has overshadowed the real hazards we face.
