For years now, on every forum I read, I encounter articles and stories analyzing the various wars between our different people - wars of culture, of philosophy, and politics.
I will hazard a guess that most of your acquaintances are adults over 30. I suspect most of the screaming far-whatever people are young adults. (And older adults who are afraid of the young adults)
You may be right about the screaming part. But I'm in my seventies and know a number of progressives my age who can't think beyond what NPR has instilled into them.
Academia and government are two places where a person can be clueless for the duration of their career, and still advance in that career. (I'm pretty sure that cluelessness is a benefit in career advancement.)
I can certainly listen with an open mind to those with left and right ideas about how much far social safety nets should extend, the pros and cons of a one-payer medical system vs private insurance, taxation policy, etc. But when one has to make the statement "I have Liberal acquaintances who...are opposed to men in women’s spaces and adolescent transitioning," this is similar to saying "I have Liberal acquaintances who don't believe males have the right to attack women while using the restroom or that parents should be able to rape their children." The fact that you had to clarify this, while also in the same sentence equating it, imo, to the other issues you listed tells me there is no hope for the Dems/Progressives. I was a lifelong independent until about 3 years ago, when it became clear the dems had descended into Dante's Inferno and Trump was revolutionizing the republican party for the better.
Though to also be fair, those I've met who do not have a problem with such things also do not believe they equate to attacking women or raping children. They view it from a different perspective (with which I don't agree), but as with every issue we have to acknowledge that while they might be in the minority, they are not an inconsequentially small number of outlier nutjobs. For better or worse they represent a fairly substantial percentage of the population, certainly enough to affect elections, so we all need to learn to communicate with each other.

Haha true..

Strangely also true.
Yeah, I've met a few (mostly in academia)

Fair point, BB.
