DEI stands for divisive, egregious and ineffective.

I apologize for not reading your interview until today, but yes. you experienced the exact same thing as Ms. Alexander. Did you ever re-pursue your Doctoral degree? Your story is very interesting. I would like to interview you on this subject more in depth. If you're open to this, please contact me directly george@gsmaurer.com. Thanks.

You think CACREP is bad? Just wait til you hear about the social work standards/competencies. Also look up the COAMFTE accreditation standards or anything the AAMFT has published in the last six years. Barf.

This is what happens when you worship at the altar of Robin DiAngelo and Ibram Kendi while lacking any reason or analysis whatsoever.

Critical theory has indeed replaced critical thinking.

Jake, thank you for your input. I'll look into COAMFTE and write a future article on my findings. Again, thank you for sharing.

DEI programs are being dumped by companies because they are counter-productive and destructive. Unfortunately, universities are a different animal. They have been overrun by woke ideologues, especially anything related to counseling, and it will require a concerted effort to root out the false doctrines that currently prevail.

If you are down for that concerted effort, I’m working on it.

As a parent of a troubled young person in his 20s the counseling department at his university coupled with young DEI therapists pushed him into believing he was a woman and to medicalization rather than address the real trauma he had been through just prior for which he has still not received help. He is now unemployable, has cut off family at their suggestion and his future is uncertain to say the least. I know there are many, many families experiencing similar tragedies. This was a boy with so much promise and now he may not survive what has happened at their hands. Yet there is no recourse.

Susanne, your story is tragic and perfectly explains the dangers involved with wokeness in mental health. I will pray for you and your family...especially your son. I have faith he will someday come home.

I am so sorry this has happened to your family. One of the reasons that I have been speaking out about the problems in psychology is because people are not aware of the danger in therapy right now, especially from newly graduated counselors and therapists of all kinds. I agree with George that given enough time he should come home. For the time being, if you need help, or future assistance, I have compiled a list of therapists and groups that stand in opposition to this ideology here. https://diogenesinexile.substack.com/p/how-to-find-mental-health-care-in And I am continuing my efforts to expose this problem in counseling and turn the ship around.

I can't think of a worse way to weaken the military than DEI. Last thing our soldiers need to think about is the skin color of their brothers and sister in arms and to eye one another suspiciously for possible micro aggression.

Yep, research shows military readiness directly suffers from DEI. They are less lethal due to resources being diverted away from operational needs towards social justice training and indoctrination. Scary.

Also scary: when I read about ASU’s research in your article, my first reaction was ‘how did a large state university get away with publishing findings that challenge DEI?’ Thanks for a great piece.

I grew up right by Ft Bragg after the Vietnam war. My high school was within walking distance of the base and filled with army kids. It was one of the least bigoted environments I’ve ever been due to a spirit of everyone being in it together. I hate to think of how this ideology is actively tearing that down.

What what I’ve seen in the counseling textbooks, and you can see it yourself here https://diogenesinexile.substack.com/p/cacreps-control-over-counseling-is, it is included as a statement of fact and not connected to Marx. It’s no wonder they can’t identify it for what it is.
