You have expressed no vitriol or hatred, so I will express none.
You have done what so few do, reminded us that you are speaking only for yourself. You are an individualist. I am an individualist. We disagree. Individualists can do that, without hating each other.
Biden's staff came from him, it was the continuation of his doctrine, and rumour has it he was at the White House quite often during the Biden's year. Not exactly a stretch to me.
Yes, I understand that premise, and there may be much truth to Obama overreaching in terms of what a potential advisor may typically present.
But that is so little of what I wrote here. It mixes the hyperbolic idea of Obama having a third term (with a detectible humor attached) , with the very real threat of Trump making good on his claims of a true third term.
The time to complain about Obama's role in the Biden admin was during that presidency. Having said that, what in general, do you think about Presidents having an unconstitutional third term? That, I gather, is the heart of the matter.
Whew. Not easy writing. Taking this in - while on train from Paris to Saint Just for meetings with global cartoonists, Charlie Hebdo hopefully, and for much needed satirical humor. Notified your book is en route. xx em
Well, I can now say I am not alone in my viewpoint on DJT. I have never been a supporter and I am not even the least bit happy about what he did and said at the memorial of the man who truly got him elected this time. Trump is not all the names he’s been called by the DTS crowd but he is also not doing the country any justice. He feeds off of the hate and fans the flames. I hope and pray that a true, genuine, conservative person, male of female, steps up to save this country because I truly believe that 2028 will be the actual tipping point, for better or for worse.
Man oh man, if my thoughts were ever to come from someone else's keyboard, this would be it. Right down to the part about writing what everyone else has already opined.
I really like this piece. I admit that I long for the day that a new president can lead the party forward keeping the policies that are beneficial but without creating such chaos where it doesn't neet to be. Then I hope those with derangement syndrome can calm down. A lot of relationships have suffered due to those who cannot think or talk of anything else when they are stuck in a derangement cyclone.
Interesting article that I will not hit like on. As a Trump supporter but not a MAGA or Trump syncopate, I believe you have rightly identified why many support Trump but do not necessarily support Trump the man. I agree with many if not all of his policies, I agree with his hardball tactics b/c without them the opposition (Dems, RINOS, liberal courts, MSM) would continue to push him around. I, like you, can handle his rambling speeches, is humor that is missed by many and his grandiose statements. What I do not like is his continued narcissistic and egotistical attitude… but then again, name a POTUS that does not have those qualities…Clinton? Obama? Either Bush? even Biden? With that said, now I request the author to write a fictional article, a “what if” article on how different it would be if MSM told the truth and was not biased either way, if the Liberal Courts stuck to ruling on law and not political leanings, if the Democrats would allow Trump to put a cabinet in place w/o needing the VP to intervene, if the Dems would actually negotiate and legislate in a bipartisan manner with out all the histrionics, if there were no violence against law enforcement, etc. From that POV please describe how POTUS Trump may act, how the American public may act and if there would be the divisiveness in society we now witness. I look forward to that article.
I understand, and even mentioned some of the biases you listed here. If these factors were eliminated, one by one, or if Trump were even allowed, somehow, in some way, to govern unopposed, I still believe we would ultimately come to the problem of the man himself. One constant among ardent Trump defenders is the deflection to the Democrats, etc.
A proper defense of Trump should be able to be mounted without the words Biden, MSM, Democrats, Obama, Clinton, etc. etc. Each of those entities are stock full of problems, but their absence ( I contend) will not solve the Trump dilemma. I don't believe Trump is a mere reactionary in his role and in this climate. He is not *only the victim of those biases.
The President simply has got a lot of problems all on his own.
Thank you for the reply. I do understand your final point and do not straight out disagree with it…but and yes a but. My simple analogy (maybe too simple) is this; If a Bengal Tiger is continually hunted and pursued but ultimately keeps surviving it not only becomes wiser in its hunters methods but at some point will be able to circle around and attack. If it kills one of the hunters it is a man killer and needs to be destroyed. Welp, Trump certainly has been able to survive all of the hunts on him ( 2 impeachments, Russiagate, EG Carrol, Fani Willis, Leticia James, Alvin Bragg, Classified documents, by some counts 97% negative reporting by MSM as well as Hitler and Facist and let us not forget nearly being assassinated and an 2nd attempt). So how is one to defend Trump without using any of these “hardships” placed on him? It is as if you want to define the man without mentioning what he withstood and then say well he is flawed. Those hardships, actual attacks on him has become part of who he is. Look at the hardships in your life and tell me they did not shape you. And forget the nonsense that we have to remove the words Biden, MSM, Democrats, Obama, Clinton, etc. Those are his hunters. What happened to the days when Trump was the darling of NYC, the developer, the socialite that so many wanted to be around (including the women on The View)? Go back to those days and he is the same brash man except now he was and is again POTUS and he has been hunted for 10 years. Lastly, ask a democrat to name what is wrong in the USA without mentioning Trump. Immigration, crime, 30 trillion debt, failing schools, Hamas, Ukraine, …
You have stated no facts, so I will state none.
You have expressed no vitriol or hatred, so I will express none.

I appreciate your civility. Thank you.
However, a second reading of the text may show that I indeed, did present some facts.
It's funny how a great many people ramble on about the possibility of him seeking a third term while Obama did one without even being elected.
Phillipe....that is so dumb.....
Biden's staff came from him, it was the continuation of his doctrine, and rumour has it he was at the White House quite often during the Biden's year. Not exactly a stretch to me.

This was most definitely an original essay. Well done, thank you for your candidness and full honesty.
Thank you, Trilety!
Man oh man, if my thoughts were ever to come from someone else's keyboard, this would be it. Right down to the part about writing what everyone else has already opined.
Good job, and thanks for doing it.
Thanks, Jake. Glad to hear your thoughts now and again!

Trump was necessary to destroy what the Democrats had become … and he hasn’t succeeded in doing even that.
Only curious… what have/had they become?
Out-of-touch elitists, authoritarian moralists, gender extremists, groupthink enforcers, fetishizing the marginalized to purify their privilege…
