Transracialism, The Next Trans Frontier
If Gender Identity Is Real, Why Isn't Racial Identity?
By now you’ve heard of transgenderism. But you probably haven’t heard of all the other forms of transism. There’s transageism, when one identifies with another age. Transspeciesism, which indicates one who identifies as an animal. Transableism, when a fully capable person identifies as being disabled, and transracialism, which describes a person who identifies as another race or ethnicity.

Although there are many forms of transism, only transgenderism is currently acceptable by the powers that be. We are told transgenderism consists of one expressing his/her authentic self, which stems from feelings of bodily discomfort. We’re further told it has existed for thousands of years. And the only way to cure these feelings of discomfort is for one to ‘transition’ into the opposite gender.
Gender transition typically includes a change in gender expression. And expressing one’s gender is said to include everything from hairstyles, clothing and makeup choices, mannerisms, even likes and dislikes. Using this same expression measuring tool on race and ethnicity-we see there are vastly more people who wish to express another racial or ethnic identity than another gender. And although transgenderism is acceptable to progressives, transracialism is actually far more common.
An entire tanning industry is dedicated to helping light skin people obtain varying shades of darker skin. In fact, melanin, which is the hormone in our body that determines how light or dark our skin is, is now injectable or inhalable. So light skin people can increase their melanin to achieve extremely dark skin.
On the flip side, in places where people tend to have darker skin, there are many skin-bleaching treatments to help people achieve lighter skin. I recently saw an ad from an Indian company, showing a dark-skinned Indian woman who after receiving skin-bleaching cream turned into a blonde-haired, blue-eyed, White-looking woman making her friends envious. And of course, we all remember the famous case of Michael Jackson, who completely changed his appearance from a Black to a White man.
But why would one want to look as another race or ethnicity? Well, if one being uncomfortable with one’s sex is gender dysphoria, then discomfort with one’s skin color must be racial dysphoria, right? You will hear activists state racial dysphoria does not exist but if that's the case why are there so many who wish to look like another race or ethnicity?
There are millions across the world who put themselves at risk for skin cancer and spend large amounts of money in an attempt to obtain a drastically different skin color. If being trans is about being one’s authentic self why can't that authentic self be another race or ethnicity?
I think most of us will recognize wishing to emulate someone else is a grass is greener type mindset. We often wish to look like someone we’re not because humans tend to be unsatisfied with themselves so it’s only natural to look at others with envy. This is an unhealthy (but natural) coping strategy that exists across all cultures. And if we accept transgenderism is not a case of jealousy, envy, or escapism, but a true case of being born in the wrong body, how can we deny people who feel the same way about their race or ethnicity?
There are many who grow up in communities where they are racial minorities. If a White person has spent his entire life in a Black community and feels most comfortable within that community why can't he transition to be a member of that community, racially?
If we accept one form of transism (transgenderism) we cannot socially or legally reject the others. So not only will transracialism become accepted and normalized, the other forms of transism eventually will as well. Accepting ourselves as we are will become an arcane mindset. Our identities will not be based on our immutable characteristics but on the ‘roles’ or stereotypes we desire to emulate.
So if we don't want to live in a ‘pick your own identity’ future, we better think long and hard about how far we let transgenderism go.

Nice work, Rebecca. But your example of a white person who grows up in a black neighborhood then decides to transition to a black person begs the obvious question: If America is so irredeemably racist, as claimed by many trans activists and their intersectional allies, why would any white person want to suffer the indignities and disadvantages of being black? More to the point, why aren't our institutions full of black people seeking to escape their racist prisons by identifying as whites?
The fact that transracialism is deemed outrageous while transgenderism must be accepted already tells you how ideologically charged all these "trans-isms" are. Fact is: You can alter your appearance all you want and tell the world you're an 18-year-old Asian boy instead of a 45-year-old Caucasian woman, but your DNA is your DNA.
If there were such a thing as transracialism, it would at least make more "sense" than transgenderism because race is not binary. The underlying idea of all "trans-isms", however, is the same: It's about giving priority to your *felt* identity as opposed to actual reality. A person's self-image becomes the absolute truth - reality doesn't matter anymore. And by accepting this premise, we are delving into very dangerous territory...
