I agree 100%. I need poetry to live. And the art museums and Tarantino. And the Stones and Tchaikovsky. Art is life. Great article.

Thank you. Much to my wife’s dismay, I keep bringing home poetry, looking for the songs my soul needs to get through the week. I find it in the oddest places: The Temple by George Herbert on awe, a small book by Gregory Corso with the poem “Marriage”, the determination of Odysseus to make it home— they’re all NECESSARY. Thank you.

"And this comes back to the stories we tell ourselves- these stories, whatever their plot, are deeply important. We need art, in all its forms, to tell us about ourselves, to tell us about one another" 👏👏👏

Art, like beauty, is in the eyes of the beholder. We all need "art" to understand and express - to do our best to make others "understand". Those who don't need to be educated and stop being critics and naysayers. Unfortunately, some dont try or see the need. We all see art everywhere and everyday that influences us - even if we know it or not. Love that you write in hopes that they will try.

Good read.
