You're exactly right. If people on the left believe that Trump is a dangerous fascist, they will behave accordingly. The fact that journalists feel comfortable lying and ordinary people feel comfortable harassing ICE agents (and then are SHOCKED when bad things happen, even if those things are just them being manhandled or arrested) indicate that these people don't actually believe that Trump is a dangerous fascist, or at least that they're using the term rather flexibly... as they have for many years now.

Remember: George W. Bush was a 'fascist' too... until he began publicly criticizing Donald Trump. So were the Cheneys. This isn't an objective claim about reality. It's either disingenuous tactical language, or emotional hysteria.

“Being a victim does not excuse you from the responsibility for your actions”. Love this! Well said! I’ve been trying to articulate this for ages, and you’ve done it for me.

" If a couple of unarmed lesbians could end fascism, World War II could have been ended by Eleanor Roosevelt and one of her female pals." 😆

But by helping build the UN framework, did they inadvertently lead to Western nations war against their own people? 🤔

You'll have to explain "war against their own people."

Lockdowns, covid mandates, censorship, debanking, green energy/bug eating, etc. all for the benefit of teaching the world to sing in harmony!

Ok. I'd rather call them abuses of power than a war but I get your point.

Regardless of what you want to call it, what's happening isn't new. Those in power have always sought more power. It's one of the causes of the American Revolution.

Its one of the reasons I want smaller government. Nobody cares in the president of the student council is a tyrant because s/he doesn't have any real power. The principal on the other hand...

Both sides do it. We're certainly seeing greater abuses of power than we have in some time though.

The UN didn't cause it, though. The UN is simply a tool of international governments. Whoever controls the tool gets to use and abuse it's power.

Thanks for the comment Kerrylee!

And thank you for your response! I love Substack for the exchange. I am looking at things through the lens of Karl Popper who seemingly conflated nationalism with patriotism forgetting patriotism roused Americans to fight in WWII. I agree that small local governments seem the best way to protect individual.
