I realize it's fashionable to take Donald Trump "seriously, but not literally," even though much of the media reverses that. But Canada as a part of America hasn't been a serious idea since Teddy Roosevelt suggested it 120 years ago, and not even then. However, an economic "union" of some sort - and there's been work on that for years - makes total sense and would strengthen both country. It can start by streamling regulations and certifications and eliminating barriers both countries have to trade with each other, from food products to timber.
I might add that Canada should also start dismantling it's inter-provincial trade barriers as well. Of course that would take cooperation between the provinces and leadership at the federal level, so I'm not overly optimistic that this will happen.
I used to be embarrassed by Trump's trolling but after living four years of Biden-hell with a close call with Harris, I find it a useful sort of a tool to separate the wheat from the chaff. If Harris had been elected, I would assume the reign of Trudeau would have continued.
The much hated Trudeau regime in Canada was on its way out as measured by the polls well before Trump was seen as having a chance at re-election. We will likely see Globalist central bankster and climate ideologue, Mark Carney as Prime Minister briefly as he can get the job nominally, as new leader of the Liberal Party until he gets elected but as soon as any bill or motion arises in Parliament after it reconvenes in March, the government will be defeated and into an election where the Conservatives are favored to get a majority government.
One of the many reasons I suspect why Trump trolls Trudeau is, like Obama and other creatures of the left, they lack the diplomacy to refrain from campaigning for fellow travelers in other countries.
I am a Canadian and having lived in both countries, I prefer that Canada attempt to reform as a separate nation but am not opposed to to breaking up into more logical units. Alberta and Saskatchewan with the northern and interior parts of BC would make a very viable resource rich nation. Perhaps, being optimistic it could adopt the US Constitution and follow it in its original intent.
In my view the risk of provinces separating from the country or the country just blowing apart entirely are higher than they were 10 and even 5 years ago. There are many reasons for this but most has to do with how the Liberal government has run the country.

Thanks for the comment Kelly.

Thankfully we'll never know.
