Years ago a Canadian friend politely admonished that the US should really try socialism. It works. Fast forward to the implosion during Covid and I often think back to that statement. I was similarly scolded by another friend, from Europe, desperate to become eligible to live in Canada but needed more $$ to do so. Thank goodness my impoverished relatives took the second best choice of the US. That said, I have heard Canada is beautiful and you certainly have some funny comedians. While I used to be embarrassed by Trump's remarks, now I see them as a useful tool to pull back the curtain on who is running things in the various lands of Oz.
After a decade under the governance of Trudeau's Liberals a lot of work will be required to undo the damage that has been done. That said, I is sometimes necessary to remind people who "live" on the internet (myself included) that we hardly live in a communist hellhole.
The CND dollar is very weak at the moment so it's a good time to head north for a visit. ;)
