I like the cliche, "burn the house down to get the rat out ".
I don't figure into rebirth. I like the concept of just improving. I will never leave an uncomfortable place until I'm comfortable with it. There's no beauty without pain, no quiet without noise and no life without knowing one self.
Just sit on the tightwire, in the kaos and the noise until the birds sing.
Great piece, well written, you have a great consistency.
Peace within chaos. Steadiness within entropy. Immutability within change. We live in paradox. To me, peace is found in relinquishment to paradox, acceptance of inconsistency, sitting quietly, acting energetically. This is a constant process of dying and being born. As our friend Bobby Zimmerman noted, "who is not busy being born is busy dying."
Absolutely beautiful and well said. I used to be caught in the mire, running and trying and not listening to my inner voice telling me to stop until my body made me stop. I am finally at rest now. It’s a sad process full of grief at first but moments of peace and clarity and joy happen more often.
I have said for a long time: To stay sane I stay partly insane. As to this quote: “The new American President has promised it. No matter whether your opinion of him is favorable or unfavorable, chaos was always going to ensue, because it is indelibly connected to his objective.” Is it really his “objective”? Or is it the objective of the opposing party and its died in wool MSM and legacy media to portray that. To whose benefit does an administration of portrayed chaos benefit? Certainly not this administration…how is news sold (monetized if you will)? Why do you carry and espouse this opinion: “because it is indelibly connected to his objective”?
Ah-good question. My point in that (my personal politics aside) could be construed as a way of saying to make an omelet you have to break a few eggs. If a goal like “drain the swamp” is taken seriously, you would have to expect opposition—there is much “heck” to be expected. Even the most favorable supporter cannot expect his initiatives to be exactly smooth.
My wife and I are the same. We both feel bad being idle. I’ve tried to change since retiring. Before the baby came I spent a lot of time walking around, sitting to have some wine somewhere and watch people be busy. The new idleness maybe people plugged in constantly mindlessly scrolling.
I look at my daughter who never stops moving, but she does take some time to sit and read with me.
The new president promised common sense. Shows you where this country has gone when common sense creates chaos to some. I did go to war and I don't fear. I can sit by myself in peace. War changes your perspective on many things in life. Being in a war zone you can't run away if you are there for a purpose. You are forced to look at yourself and can see what you did to run away from yourself while not being there. When you return you can choose to go back to those habits or continue running from yourself. Or you can choose to live in peace with yourself wherever you are. Peace with others will always be a challenge because we are all different.

Flanked by life and and the funeral pyre
Putting on a show for you to see"

Ha! Thanks for Leon quote, BTB—as well as the handsome compliment on my writing.
If I added them all up I would have one hell of an endorsement!

Absolutely! Love it..
Lovely ☺️ The more I go on in life the more I want just nothing, nothing, total silence. Or just the world as it is, so alive.

Thank you.
Thank you, Aphrodite. Very kind of you to say!
